[10/11/2008] I used two days to write an Online Message Board and a Web Hit Counter. The message board module is included in the contact page, and will take care of different kinds of script attacks. the web counter module is included in the main page and will avoid increasing the count number caused by regular refreshes from the same visitor.

[09/21/2008] I have been in Houston for four weeks. Last week, almost all parts of Houston did not have power or Internet for a whole week after the Hurricane IKE. I went to College Station to visit my classmate at TAMU last Monday and Tuesday after the hurricane. After that I came back and had interviews with Reynolds and Reynolds as scheduled. They had a very powerful electrical generator, which could guarantee that the company could run smoothly after the hurricane.

[08/23/2008] I drove 14 hours from Lincoln NE to Houston TX (from 9:45 am to 11:50 pm). I am in Houston now.

[07/29/2008] I passed my oral defense yesterday! After depositing my Master thesis to the library and paying the binding fee. I will get my Master degree on August 16. But I need to stay at Lincoln till August 22, for the Multi-energy Processing Open Review Meeting.

[07/16/2008] I have finished my Master thesis and will do the oral defense on July 28th. After that I will attend the annual review of my second research project (Multi-energy Processing Open Review Meeting, August 20-21, Lincoln, NE)

[05/16/2008] Spring semester ended on May 09th and Summer semester begins today. I got perfect grades in the two courses I had in Spring semester. I begin to write my thesis and submit my resume today. I need to finish my Masters thesis, do the oral defense for my graduation and find a full time job in this summer. Three challenging work? I can do it!

[04/30/2008] I am in my dead week of this semester now. A lot of class projects and preparing for the final exams keep me busy everyday.

[04/22/2008] I get my Malaysian Night 2008 volunteer certificate this noon. I stand in the Union Square for a whole afternoon as a guide.

Hi, This is Alex Longzhang Tian. First of all, I love Linux and open source software. They are amazing. Then I like computers and programming. I install Linux on my laptops and use Linux for 6 years. I also know how to use Windows very well but Windows itself is not a powerful, safe or robotic OS (user unfriendly with a dull "cool" interface) and has low performance. I also love python, which make me feel that other languages are some kind of messy. :) Ruby looks better than C++ and Java. For Perl and PHP or assembly language in ATandT style, it is hard to learn them because one need to put unnecessary symbols ($,%) before virable names. But once you use them for a while, you will find all languages are easy and similar, (except Java,-P, because I find there are too many modules need to be used and learned when using Java, while the work could be easily done (or shortly coded) by python, perl, or PHP)

I graduated on August 16th, 2008 with my Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Now I am looking for a full time Programmer or Server Administrator position, or a Mechanical Engineer position drafting with AutoCAD or doing Finite Element Analysis.

I build this website based on the template I have developed for my open source project Longzox. Here you may find some information you are interested in.

The sitemape is simple. I only have six pages saved in XML format. A PHP script (index.php) is used to translate these XML content files to HTML webpages based on XSL and CSS stylesheet. This makes writing a webpage really easy. One just need to write the XML constent files and never need to consider how these constents will be deisplayed on a webpage.The PHP script (I would like to call it a robot) will grenerate a beautiful webpage and sent it to the web browser. Is this cool or not? >_-!
